Production Ready Art Specifications
Clients
are welcome to submit production ready graphics for any projects.
We ask that you setup your production file to the following
specifications based on ASI and PPIA standards.
We accept Mac or
PC-based
files and will preflight and resize
your
artwork to fit the promotional product’s imprint area at no
charge. If you do not have artwork that meets these specifications, our
graphic designers
are willing and able to take whatever graphics you have and create
production artwork. Please contact Client Services for
artwork
specifications on any production method or for answers to any
technical questions you may have.
Preferred
- Adobe Illustrator CS1,(or earlier) – All placed images and fonts
must be provided. To avoid type style conflicts, type must be
converted to outlines or curves. Placed images must be at
least 300 dpi @ 100% of production size.
Any
Vector-based, EPS file (created in Corel Draw, Freehand, or
Illustrator.)All

Adobe
Photoshop
6.0 (or earlier) – For 4-color process only.
QuarkXpress
– 4.1 (or earlier) - All placed images and fonts must be
provided.
Make
sure designated colors are
set within the file to the proper color palette. (CMYK or PMS
Solid Colors. No RBG please)
Contact client services and
request production art specifications for any of our products.
Formats
that will Require Additional Work
PowerPoint
graphics, JPEGs, TIFFs, graphics from web sites, printed materials,
word
processing programs, generic publishing programs,
MS Publisher, embroidered articles, pictures (hard copy or digital) are
examples of artwork that will require additional graphic
design work.
Images
used in
websites (JPEGs,GIFs) will generally not be acceptable for promotional
product printing. The resolution is typically 72 dpi and the resulting
image
would not meet quality standards.

ways of Sending Artwork

(Up to 7 Megs). Avoid using self-extracting files. Our virus
protection program
flags and deletes these types of file. Files over, 7 Megs, should be
sent via our FTP site. Contact client services for
instructions.
It's easy...
Common File Errors
Using or nesting low
resolution, 72 dpi, web images within an EPS file.
Files were created using
improper color palettes.
RGB files will need to be converted into PMS Spot Colors or
CMYK
Process formulas depending on imprinting method. Converting files may
cause a shift in hues.
Failing to setup
fonts as curves or outlines resulting in a font mismatch.
